More than an altitude generator
When comparing altitude systems, the generator is only one part of the equation. The Sleep Cloud King F10 is sold as an integrated altitude sleeping system. The package includes the Sleep Cloud King, the F10 Altitude Generator, the Box Altitude Sensor, continuous environmental oxygen monitoring, and the Box Altitude App for iOS and Android with remote monitoring and control.
The idea is straightforward: create the altitude, continuously measure the environment you are actually sleeping in, and give you visibility and control over the system.
Continuous monitoring versus a handheld reading
There is a real difference between taking an oxygen reading and continuously monitoring an altitude environment.
The Box Altitude Sensor measures the oxygen concentration inside the Sleep Cloud continuously, so the environment is monitored through the night rather than checked by hand. The system connects to the Box Altitude App for iOS and Android for monitoring and control from your phone.
Hypoxico sells a handheld oxygen monitor separately, currently published at US$360. That lets you take a reading when you are looking at the instrument, which is a different thing from an integrated, continuously connected environmental monitor.
A larger sleeping environment
The Sleep Cloud King measures 92.5 × 92.5 × 76.8 inches (235 × 235 × 195 cm). Hypoxico’s Deluxe King tent measures 83 × 79 × 63 inches.
That is roughly 29% more floor area and almost 14 inches more height. The extra height is what lets the Sleep Cloud work as a walk-in environment around the bed rather than an enclosure over the sleeping surface. For someone spending eight or more hours a night inside it, that is worth considering.

Hypoxico publishes the Everest Summit II from US$4,595, with the Deluxe King tent at US$575 — about US$5,170 for the generator and tent. Adding their handheld oxygen monitor at US$360 brings that configuration to about US$5,530.
The Box Altitude system costs more. Altitude capability
The Sleep Cloud simulates altitudes up to 4,000 m (13,123 ft), which is well above what overnight protocols typically use — many sit around 2,000–2,500 m. How much exposure you need at that altitude is a separate question, covered in How Many Hours in an Altitude Tent?
Hypoxico publishes an optional High Altitude Adapter configuration reaching 21,000 ft (6,400 m). For mountaineers specifically preparing for very high elevations, that is a genuine advantage of their system.
Which one suits you
Box Altitude suits you if you want a complete, connected altitude sleeping environment: a large walk-in enclosure, continuous oxygen monitoring, a connected sensor and a smartphone app, designed to make altitude exposure easy to set, monitor and fit into normal life and training. Hypoxico suits you if you want a modular system from a long-established US altitude equipment company, particularly if you need to simulate extremely high elevations. They also offer a broad range from smaller sleeping enclosures through to commercial hypoxic rooms.
