Altitude-enabled bedrooms allow athletes and guests to accumulate long-duration simulated-altitude exposure while sleeping without relocating to elevation. For sports properties, altitude accommodation can extend the performance environment beyond the gym or training room.

NZCIS — four altitude-enabled apartments

At the New Zealand Campus of Innovation and Sport (NZCIS) in Upper Hutt, Box Altitude infrastructure includes four altitude-enabled apartments alongside the simulated-altitude training environment. It is a strong example of integrating altitude accommodation into a broader athlete-performance campus.

How many F20 generators does a sleeping room need?

For sleeping-room applications, Box Altitude typically uses an initial planning guide of approximately one F20 per 16 m³. Larger bedrooms, suites and apartments can use multiple generators. Final sizing depends on leakage, occupancy, target altitude and mechanical design.

Air conditioning and room integration

Split-system, cassette or bulkhead split air conditioning is generally preferred because conditioned air remains within the room rather than being continuously exchanged with outside air.

Full altitude room vs Sleep Cloud

The Sleep Cloud creates a dedicated altitude sleeping enclosure around the bed. A full altitude room is better suited to hotels, permanent residences and commercial accommodation where the whole bedroom or suite should become the controlled simulated-altitude environment.

Combine accommodation with a training room

Hotels and performance centres can combine altitude sleeping rooms with a dedicated Altitude Training Room, creating both overnight and exercise-based simulated-altitude capability at one property.
