Sleep at altitude. Train at full intensity.

The Box Altitude Sleep Cloud makes it possible to incorporate simulated-altitude exposure into your normal routine—without relocating to the mountains or compromising the quality of your sea-level training.

Designed as a spacious four-poster sleeping environment, the Sleep Cloud provides a comfortable alternative to traditional low-profile altitude tents. Its generous internal space and continuous airflow help create an open, comfortable sleeping environment for nightly altitude exposure.

The Live High, Train Low approach

Training at altitude can reduce the pace or power an athlete can sustain because less oxygen is available. The Live High, Train Low approach separates the altitude stimulus from the training session.

By sleeping at simulated altitude and training closer to sea level, athletes can accumulate meaningful hypoxic exposure while continuing to complete their key sessions at the required intensity.

With sufficient exposure, suitable altitude protocols may stimulate the body’s natural erythropoietic response and contribute to increases in total haemoglobin mass. This can support the blood’s oxygen-carrying capacity, although individual responses vary according to exposure, training status, recovery, health and iron availability.

Simple overnight altitude control

Choose your preferred simulated altitude and the system will automatically work to reach and maintain that setting throughout the night.

The Box Altitude Sensor monitors the sleeping environment, while the Box Altitude App allows you to control and review the system from your smartphone.

Altitude can be increased progressively, allowing users to acclimatise more comfortably and identify an appropriate level of exposure.

Designed for comfort

Unlike smaller sleeping tents, the Sleep Cloud surrounds the entire bed with generous space above and around the sleeper. This creates a more open sleeping environment and minimises the enclosed feeling commonly associated with conventional altitude tents.

The spacious design and continuous airflow also help manage heat and support a more comfortable overnight experience.

Understand your altitude response with Oxygen Coach

Altitude is not simply about reaching a particular elevation. The way your sleep, oxygen saturation, resting heart rate, HRV and recovery respond can help provide context for planning future exposure.

Developed by Box Altitude, Oxygen Coach brings your natural and simulated-altitude history together with available wearable and performance data. It is designed to help athletes plan altitude blocks, review overnight responses and track adaptation over time.

Choosing your altitude

Many athletic altitude protocols use sleeping elevations around 2,000–2,500 metres. However, the most appropriate altitude and exposure schedule will vary between individuals.

New users should begin conservatively and increase altitude progressively while monitoring sleep quality, recovery and their response to the exposure. Athletes with medical conditions or concerns about oxygen exposure should consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning an altitude program.

Sleep Cloud — frequently asked questions

How much bedroom space does the Sleep Cloud need?

The Sleep Cloud is a four-poster frame that stands over your existing bed. The King measures 2.35 m long × 2.35 m wide × 1.95 m high; the Queen measures 2.15 m long × 1.95 m wide × 1.95 m high. Your room needs at least 1.95 m of clear height for the frame, plus space to walk around it.

How loud is the altitude generator?

Two different numbers matter here. The altitude generator itself runs at approximately 48–55 dB, roughly the level of a quiet dishwasher. Inside the tent it is about 31 dB, because the generator sits outside the Sleep Cloud and connects to it by a hose — so the sound you actually sleep in is well below the machine’s own output.

It is a steady, continuous sound rather than an intermittent one, which is the part that matters for sleeping through it. Where you position the generator is what decides which of those two levels you notice.

What altitude can it simulate, and what should I set it to?

The system simulates altitudes up to 4,000 metres (13,123 feet). Many athletic protocols use sleeping elevations around 2,000–2,500 metres, but the right altitude varies between individuals. New users should begin conservatively and increase progressively while monitoring sleep quality and recovery. Athletes with medical conditions, or concerns about oxygen exposure, should consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning an altitude programme.

Do I have to train at altitude as well?

No — the Sleep Cloud is built for the opposite. Training at altitude reduces the pace or power an athlete can sustain, because less oxygen is available. The Live High, Train Low approach separates the altitude stimulus from the training session: you sleep at simulated altitude and train closer to sea level, so your key sessions keep their intensity.

How long does it take to set up?

Usually 1 to 2 hours. The Sleep Cloud is portable and designed to be installed without professional help — once the tent is assembled and connected to the altitude generator it is ready for immediate use. An altitude room, by contrast, is a full-day installation by a ventilation installer.

How long before I notice a response?

Most users are recommended 8–11 hours a day of exposure. How quickly a response appears varies considerably between individuals according to exposure, training status, recovery, health and iron availability.

What is included, and what power does it need?

Each Sleep Cloud system includes the four-poster Sleep Cloud in King or Queen, your choice of F10 or F20 Altitude Generator, the Box Altitude Sensor, and the Box Altitude App for iOS and Android. Systems are available in 110–120 V and 220–240 V configurations.

Can I tell whether it is working?

The Box Altitude Sensor monitors the sleeping environment continuously, and the app lets you control and review the system from your phone. Oxygen Coach brings your natural and simulated-altitude history together with available wearable and performance data, so you can review overnight responses — sleep, oxygen saturation, resting heart rate and HRV — and track adaptation over time.

What are the shipping and warranty terms?

Standard shipping is free on all products and deliveries usually arrive within 30 days. Box Altitude system hardware carries a two-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and system performance issues, with ongoing maintenance and support available.
